Below is an outline of the procedures and policies that we follow to insure that our practices protect the integrity of all personal information.
PROTECTION:
An excellent security system is in place to protect the information we collect. All employees of DVT are required to affirm, in writing, that they understand the responsibilities as they pertain to the privacy policy.
There are many purposes for the information we collect:
• For the development and provision of products and services that meet our customers needs; • To assist with customer communications regarding services and products; • To confirm information provided by our customers and employees; • For detection and prevention of fraud; • To improve the delivery of services and products; • To monitor risk and business results; • To ensure we have what is required or authorized by law; and • For the hiring process and maintaining employment relationships.
We will never collect, use or disclose relevant personal information without first obtaining your consent either verbally or in writing or in accordance with the law.
However, without the relevant information, we may be unable to offer and provide products and services that meet your needs. It is also prudent business practice for us to verify certain information provided by you.
A Privacy Officer has been appointed to oversee all aspects of this policy. We encourage you to contact this person should you have any questions or concerns. We do not sell or otherwise market your personal information to third parties.
PRIVACY POLICY:
Below is a brief summary:
1/ Accountability: We are responsible for personal information under our control and shall designate one or more persons who are accountable for our companies' compliance with the Policy.
2/ Purposes for Personal Information: We shall identify the purpose for which personal information is collected at or before the time it is requested.
3/ Consent for Obtaining and Disclosing Personal Information: The knowledge and consent of a customer or employee are required for the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information.
4/ Limiting Collection of Personal Information: We only collect the personal information which is necessary for the legitimate purpose identified by our company. We will collect personal information by fair and lawful means.
5/ Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention of Personal Information: Personal information will not be used for anything other than the purpose stated at the time of request, except with the consent of the individual or where required by law. Personal information will only be kept for the duration required by that purpose.
6/ Accuracy: Personal information will be updated regularly to ensure it is complete and accurate. Please contact our Privacy Officer, identified at the end of this policy, to access and verify your personal information.
7/ Safeguards: Appropriate steps have been taken to protect your personal information.
8/ Policies and Practices: Customers and employees will have access to our policies and practices as pertaining to their personal information.
9/ Access: A customer or employee can access his or her personal information upon request at any time. The individual can challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and make amendments.
Requests to view your personal information must be made in writing. We are entitled to deny access under certain circumstances, though this is rare. Should this occur, the reason for denial will be provided at that time.
10/ Compliance: An individual can address a challenge concerning compliance with #9 (above) to the Privacy Officer.
APPLICATION OF OUR PRIVACY POLICY:
• The Privacy Policy applies to personal information about our customers and employees which his collected, utilized or disclosed by us. • The Privacy Policy applies to the management of personal information in any format: oral, written or electronic. • The application of our Privacy Policy is subject to the requirements and provisions of Part 1 of The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and regulations there under.
Please note that you can withdraw your consent for any particular use of your personal information at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Once consent is withdrawn it may not be possible for us to continue to provide you with the service and product of your choice.
